This is not a religious sermon, though some Christians could interpret it as an example of resurrection. It’s simply an enlightening personal experience. Last year, a cut-stem bunch of bright lavender orchids were a 50th wedding anniversary gift from our son. After a month or two on our dining room table, all that remained were some very skinny, dried out stalks.
Instead of throwing the apparently dead plant away, I put it outside on our sunny balcony and, just for the hell of it, watered it regularly along with our live plants. As my recent photo shows, these beautiful blooms were the rewarding result.
Old guy’s lesson from the experience: Your career, family, health, survival or other aspects of your daily life could fade and seem ready for the trash can. Don’t despair, believe there are always chances for renewal. Nurture them and brilliant success may blossom for you!
